The Morning Show on UPN38 TV is hosted by Ted Wayman and Robin Hamilton weekday mornings from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Ted and his son have been interested in antique cars for a few years and now that Ted is co-host of The Morning Show, he asked Jack Stokinger about the possibility of having some Model As visit UPN38 TV. Ted set things up on the TV end and then we had a only a few days notice that we would be meeting at the UPN38 - TV4 studios in Brighton for a "live shot" on Thursday May 12th.
I was on the road headed to Brighton by 5 AM in the morning and I was surprised how much traffic was on the roads at that time of the morning. I met Jack Stokinger, Dick O'Brien, Doug Linden, Rick Gadbois, Wayne Champagne, John Jacobson and Dick Stitt at the studio by 6 AM and after parking the cars on the heliport out back we went inside for a quick tour of the studio and a meeting with The Morning Show team. We also met 'BZ personalities like Gil Santos, Dan Rea, Scott Whale and Barry Burbank.. I don't know how I ended up being the spokesman for the group ("since you are the president of the club...") but at approximately 7:25 I was "miked", did a sound check and the interview started. I managed to get through the interview without saying anything outrageous or inappropriate and in a few minutes it was, thankfully, over. We have a videotape that we hope to show at a Minuteman meeting sometime soon.
While having breakfast after the shoot, we met WBZ General Manager Julio Marenghi and he thanked us for coming in saying that he really enjoyed the piece and seeing the cars out back. The people at UPN38 and WBZ-TV couldn't have been nicer to us. Thanks to Ted Wayman, Robin Hamilton and the whole Morning Show team!
